"The irony is that we attempt to disown our difficult stories to appear more whole or more acceptable, but our wholeness -even our wholeheartedness- actually depends on the integration of all our experiences, including the falls."

Meet Sarah

As a Certified Emotionally Focused Couples Therapist and Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist, I bring extensive expertise and dedication to my practice. I am deeply passionate about facilitating healing and fostering secure, loving bonds in relationships. With over 15 years of clinical experience, I specialize in trauma-informed therapy for individuals, couples, and families.

As a bisexual woman, I am passionate about serving the LGBTQIA+ community. I believe meaningful, secure connection is a birthright, and I strive to foster a more loving, inclusive humanity for all.

In our work together, I will help you break free from unhealthy patterns, navigate emotional triggers, and enhance communication and conflict resolution skills. By integrating self-regulation techniques, such as mindfulness and emotional awareness, and co-regulation techniques, which involve creating safety and connection with others, we will reshape your nervous system to promote emotional resilience and deepen connection.

I have received advanced training in the Emotionally Focused Therapy (EFT) Model.  Additionally, I am trained in Polyvagal Theory (PVT) by Deb Dana, LCSW, a founding member of the Polyvagal Institute.  EFT helps me understand how attachment shapes our need for secure connections, while PVT provides insight into how our nervous system processes emotions and influences behavior. By combining EFT and PVT, I am equipped to address complex trauma with each individual, couple, and family that I serve.

As an LGBTQIA+ therapist, kink-aware, and poly-friendly practitioner, I strive to create a safe, affirming space for all individuals. I am a Clinical Member of the American Association of Marriage and Family Therapy (AAMFT), the International Centre for Excellence in Emotionally Focused Therapy (ICEEFT), the Atlanta Center for Emotionally Focused Therapy (ACEFT), and the Polyvagal Institute.

Outside of the therapy room, I’ve been married for 18 wonderful years, navigating the joys and challenges that come with a long-term partnership. This experience has deepened my empathy and understanding of the dynamics that shape relationships, allowing me to bring a personal perspective to my work as a therapist. I’m also a proud parent of two wonderful children and a playful Goldendoodle. Running is one of my favorite ways to recharge and connect with myself, and I enjoy participating in the Gobble Jog and the Peachtree Road Race every year.

I believe therapy is a collaborative journey built on honesty, vulnerability, and courage. Growth often emerges at the edges of our discomfort, while healing is found in the bravery to face our deepest struggles with empathy and compassion. My mission as a therapist is to help individuals, couples, and families break free from generational patterns, fostering wholehearted connection and resilience in their relationships.
